Structure of RIBI

Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI) is administered under its own constitution and administration, with the constitution at all times operating within the framework of Rotary International (RI). RI is based in Evanston, Illinois, USA.

Rotary operates a 'committee' system at club, district and RIBI level, which helps to spread the workload and responsibilities. The following committees exist to help members plan events and organise projects:

  • Community and Vocational Service
  • International Service
  • Youth Opportunities
  • Membership Services
  • Foundation

Club level
RIBI is made up of 1,840 clubs. Each club is autonomous and free to choose its own projects and events to benefit the local community and those further afield.

Each club has a President, elected for one year, and its own committee which suits the club's individual needs.

Through organised training events, the chairman of the committee liaises with chairmen of other clubs within their district, ensuring an integrated approach.

District level
Clubs are split between 29 districts within RIBI. Each district is led by a District Governor, elected for one year, who represents all clubs within their district.

RIBI level
RIBI is an association of all clubs in all districts and part of the worldwide organisation, Rotary International.

RIBI, like Rotary International, has a President who represents the entire organisation.

The governing body of RIBI is the General Council, chaired by the President, which is made up of the 29 district governors and other elected officers.

RIBI's administrative offices are based in Alcester, Warwickshire and act as a focal point and administrative centre for Rotary activities across Great Britain and Ireland. For more information please click here .
