RIBI Young Chef and RIBI Youth Speaks winners revealed
It has been a great weekend for Cumbria as youngsters from the county took home top trophies for the finals of two Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland (RIBI) youth competitions.
15 year old Oliver McGeorge from Ullswater cooked his way to success with a creative and mouth-watering three course meal for the RIBI Young Chef national final, which was held in Stratford-upon-Avon College.
Barely 24 hours later and Windermere School lifted the trophy in the senior category for RIBI Youth Speaks. The trio, Pippa Smith, Poppy Bullard and Richard Flint, enthralled the audience with their topic 'But is it art?'. Poppy was also awarded the Best Speaker title while Pippa won the Best Vote of Thanks trophy
Both sets of winners are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Windermere.
Be the next winner, get involved with RIBI Youth Opportunities next year. For more information, visit the Young Rotary webpage or speak to your local Rotary club. You do not need to be a member to enjoy Rotary.
