RIBI Young Citizen Awards
Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland (RIBI) celebrates the achievements of young people with the annual RIBI Young Citizen Awards.
Launched in 2007, in association with the BBC News Channel, the awards recognise young people, under the age of 25, who have demonstrated their commitment to citizenship through various activities. The awards can be for individuals or groups, showcasing and celebrating the positive citizenship and important responsibilities assumed by many young people in these islands.

RIBI Young Citizen winners receive trophies and a prize of £500 at the RIBI Conference, where the awards are presented live on the BBC News Channel. Later in the year, the winners will visit the BBC News TV studios in London.

Awards in recent years have been made to nominees involved in projects such as:
- An inner city Interact club raising money to buy ingredients and then cook and serve breakfast for fellow students whose parents cannot afford to give them a proper breakfast
- Young people raising money for the Wheelchair Foundation to supply young people abroad with wheelchairs
- A young disabled person excelling at a sport or helping other young people
- A youth exchange student doing charitable work at home or abroad
- Schools or youth groups filling a large number of shoeboxes/Aquaboxes or similar.
Those nominated do not necessarily have to be working on a Rotary project to be eligible for an award. What matters is that they, individually or as part of a group, have made a positive difference which has been recognised by a local Rotary club as worthy of a nomination.
Every nomination will receive a personalised certificate from RIBI via their local Rotary club recognising the achievement.
