which stepped in as soon as it could to assist the rescue effort
in Asia, collected more than £5.000, thereby contributing
to the airlifting of 250 Shelterboxes, fully equipped for survival

was positive, timely and focused action as part of the International
Rotary effort. Mark Bacchus, International Chairman of the Arundel
Rotary Club said "We are absolutely staggered and humbled
by the generosity of the people of Arundel"
The thanks of the people of Arundel are due to Rotary for rising
so quickly and effectively to the occasion and for giving the
people a positive opportunity to give support in the knowledge
that it would properly reflect their intention to help those so
badly affected. Congratulations to those who had the initiative
and will to do something to help others and from the size of the
local effort, that probably embraces the majority of the town.
