Rotary Young Writers 2010

The Competition: Rotary Young Writer

After beating off stiff competition in local and regional heats, the prose or poetry of budding young writers from across Great Britain and Ireland will be entered into the grand final of the Rotary Young Writer 2010.

Rotary Young Writer aims to encourage excellence in writing among children in their local community. The competition provides a mechanism for young people to participate, using their writing skills, imagination and creativity and is targeted at schools and youth groups.

The free competition is judged on three levels

• Junior 7 to 10 year old – maximum words is 500
• Intermediate 11 to13 year old – maximum words is 800
• Senior 14 to17 year old – maximum words is 1600
The competition is open to all, including Rotarian families.
