RI Institute

Update as of 5 January 2012:

At the RI Institute held at the Barceló Hinckley Island Hotel for Zones 17 and 18a from 18 through to 20 November 2011 the Findings Committee of Mike Webb and Judith Diment attempted to encapsulate the content of the plenary sessions and the interactive discussion groups for posterity and their report can be found under 'Related Documents' to the right of the screen.  They were greatly assisted by the Recorders at the interactive discussion groups and appreciation is recorded to all concerned.  Because of the high level of contributions much of the recording is in “bullet form” but it is hoped that this record will give an accurate flavour of all the proceedings.

Chairman, RI Institute 2011

The 2011 RI Institute was held at the Barceló Hinckley Island Hotel, Hinckley, Leicestershire, from Friday 18 November to Sunday 20 November 2011.  This prestigious event in the Rotary calendar was an opportunity for Rotarian and partners within Zones 17 and 18A to spend time with Rotary International senior leaders and to learn of the developments of Roary International in a friendly and intimate setting.

The 2011 event had a new look and differed from previous ones in that it encompassed elements of the Rotary Foundation and incorporated the activities and programmes of all the Rotary Coordinators.  There were comprehensive programmes for each day, full of plenary sessions and discussion groups

Senior leaders who presented at the RI Institute included:-

  • RI President Elect, Sakuji Tanaka
  • The Rotary Foundation Chairman Elect, Wilf Wilkinson
  • Rotary International Director, Allan Jagger

Thank you to everyone who attended and who gave feedback on the new format.
