INTERNATIONAL LINE UP OF SPEAKERS AT ROTARY INSTITUTE

Place: Bardd Suite, The Marriott Hotel, Cardiff
Time: 1.15pm

An international line up of speakers at the Rotary International Institute at The Marriott Hotel, Cardiff on Saturday 23 November 2002 includes Bhichai Rattakul, President of Rotary International, leading businessman Sir Anthony Jolliffe GBE and Dr Bruce Aylward of World Health Organisation.

President Bhichai Rattakul is from the Rotary Club of Dhonburi, Thailand and he heads the 1.2 million members of Rotary International worldwide.

Sir Anthony Jolliffe GBE is a leading businessman currently involved in major business projects in China, Middle East, USA and UK as shareholder, partner, advisor and consultant. He has an office in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China and he is working closely with the Chinese Government on a number of projects. He has appeared frequently on Chinese TV and he is Chairman of Special Advisory Board to the Governor of Yunnan Province China. He will speak on developments in China over the last 10 years.

Dr Bruce Aylward is the World Health's Organisation's global co-ordinator for the Polio Eradication Initiative. Based in Geneva he is the world authority on the state of the PolioPlus Campaign, a partnership between Rotary International, World Health Organisation, Unicef and the Centres for Disease Control.The campaign aims to eradicate polio by 2005, the centennial year of Rotary International. He will be arriving from Dakar, Senegal and will give an update on the polio eradication campaign.

There will be a photocall and interview opportunity at 1.15pm.
