Press Release from RIBIJune 2004 FALKIRK RESIDENT WINS VAUXHALL SIGNUM IN ROTARY DRAWFalkirk resident Thomas Gow, winner of the Rotary Vauxhall prize draw, was presented with a Vauxhall Signum today by Brian Stoyel,President of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland. The presentation took place at Devonvale Motors, part of Ian Grieve Stirling's Vauxhall Dealer, in Alloa. The prize draw was a fund raising initiative of Rotary International, in partnership with Vauxhall Motors Limited. The draw raised thirty five thousand pounds for the President’s preferred projects; the Association of Children’s Hospices, Rotaract Overseas Projects and Rotarians Eliminating Malaria in Tanzania. The winner was announced at Rotary’s annual conference held in Bournemouth in April. Kevin Wale, CEO of Vauxhall says, “It’s an honour to be part of the fundraising efforts of Rotary which raises a staggering twenty million pounds per year. ” Each of Rotary’s 1800 clubs sold tickets on a local and regional level, with Vauxhall dealerships and Children’s Hospices also getting involved in the fundraising campaign. Brian Stoyel, President of Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland comments, “I am delighted with the success of the Vauxhall partnership which will greatly benefit the projects involved. I would also like to thank Vauxhall for providing a courtesy car for me for the last two years.”
