RIBI Conference Edinburgh

Results of Business Session 2009

The business meeting at the 2009 Edinburgh conference considered a number of proposed resolutions and the following was the outcome:

• Conference approved the annual report and accounts for the year 2007/2008; agreed to the re-appointment of Dafferns LLP as the Association’s auditors for 2008/2009; approved a budget for the coming year which sets the membership subscription at £44.75 per member

• The new member recruitment campaign for 2009/2010 incorporating a levy of £2.75 per member was approved

• Resolution 1/2009 - To clarify voting on an amendment to a resolution was adopted

• Resolution 2/2009 - To enable the election of the district governor nominee earlier in the year was adopted

• Resolution 3/2009 - To enable the General Council to set the affiliation fee for new members was lost

• Resolution 4/2009 - To change the composition of the members of the Executive was adopted

• Resolution 5/2009 - To confirm that club accounts and trust accounts have been properly prepared and examined was adopted

• Resolution 6/2009 - To reduce the period for objections to new members was adopted

• Ray Burman (Kelvedon & District) was elected RIBI Vice President 2010/2011 and RIBI President 2011/2012
 
• Greg Thacker (West Woodspring) was elected unopposed as RIBI Hon Treasurer 2010/2011


An amended version of the RIBI Constitutions to reflect these changes will shortly be published on this website.

It should be noted that those Constitutional resolutions which were adopted at the Business Session take effect immediately, unless stated otherwise.
