Shelterbox launches Rotary recognition scheme
International disaster relief charity ShelterBox has launched a successful award scheme for Rotary Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland in recognition of their support of the charity.
The scheme follows the style of the Olympics whereby bronze, silver and gold pennants are awarded and equate to 25, 50 and 100 ShelterBoxes respective to the donations received.
Almost all of the 29 districts in Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI) are involved with the scheme supervised by Rotarian and Rotary Liaison Officer for ShelterBox, DavidGlover.
Twelve districts have already received awards from ShelterBox.The charity encourages those yet to reply to David Glover to do so in order to receive their much deserved reward.
David Glover, Rotary Liaison Officer for ShelterBox, said: "The scheme has so far been an amazing success. It was introduced by us to reward Rotary Clubs for their support. Since ShelterBox was founded in April 2000, RIBI clubs have donated almost £7 million and this is something they should be proud of. ShelterBox would not be where it is today without the support of Rotary."
