Fergus polio
Watch Fergus Walsh's special BBC News reports on polio and Rotary's continued commitment to its eradication.

BBC medical correspondent Fergus Walsh investigates how Rotary club members in Great Britain and Ireland helped India achieve its one year ‘polio free’ anniversary and their continued efforts to eradicate polio worldwide.

During his recent visit to India for a National Immunisation Day, Fergus visited some of the 7,000 impromptu vaccination booths across Delhi, several of them staffed by Rotary members of Rotary clubs from Great Britain.

Fantastic work by Rotary over 25 years to help rid the world of this awful polio vrrus which has crippled and killed miilions. Brilliant coverage by the BBC's Fergus Walsh and the RIBI PR team all timed to fit with Rotary Day on Thursday 23rd Feb. Only 3 countries left, and in no small part due to Rotary. Proud to be a Rotarian.

I was surprised that there was no mention in the programme of the enormous amount of funds that Rotarians had generated, quite apart from those contributed by Bill Gates.
