Election of 2015/16 District Governor
title-bottom

Action: District Secretaries

Further to the September General Council meeting:

  • The election of the DG 2015/16 to take place before 31st May 2013 – the deadline for RI to receive this information is the 30th June 2013.
  • Therefore, DGs for this year will not be called to attend the RIBI Service Assembly 22nd-24th February 2013.
  • Given that re-districting plans are now at draft stage, it was agreed that if an election has already taken place for this DG in your current district, there should be a re-election once the new district boundaries are agreed.
  • The form to report the name of the DG is available here.

Selection Advisory Committee 2012/13
title-bottom

Action: District Secretaries

Please be advised that a memo and form regarding this year's Selection Advisory Committee for RIBI President/ Hon. Treasurer is available on the RIBI website.

Please give this your attention. Every year we experience a lack of district nominees for this committee and so the criteria was broadened to include Rotarians who aren't past district governors viz. a non-past Officer of Rotary International, provided that person has served at least two full terms on the District Executive Committee.

Interest: District Officers

RIBI By-law 7, Procedures for Business Meeting
Clause 3 - Resolutions for Business Meetings
g) Proposed resolutions from clubs and districts which seek to amend the Constitution of the Association or the Standard RIBI Club Constitution or these By-laws shall only be considered at a business meeting held immediately preceding the last date for submission of proposed resolutions to the next Council on Legislation of Rotary International.

This indicates that proposals from clubs and districts should only be considered every three years, i.e., in the year immediately preceding the last date for submission of proposed resolutions to the next COL. The next time proposals could be considered from clubs and districts would be at the business meeting in 2014.

Member Access Portal (MAP)
title-bottom

Interest: Assistant Governors

There has been some confusion over exactly what Assistant Governors are able to view in MAP with the recent introduction of new functions such as Rotary Club Central.

There are actually two variations:

  • AGs that have been assigned to a club group have the exact same view as the DG.
  • AGs who have not been assigned to a club group see the same view as a standard Rotarian.

If you are an AG but not seeing the expected additional features in MAP, please ask your DG to add you to a club group in order for you to see the additional features.

Interest: Membership Services

Three new webinars have been arranged by the RIBI Membership Development & Retention Committee to demystify the RI pilot schemes and e-Clubs and how they can be used within RIBI to enhance a club, make it more attractive to potential members by offering flexibility and alternative membership and meeting options for consideration.

The first two webinars have already been held, which covered ‘Satellite Meetings - How they work, what do you need to do?’ and ‘eClubs - How they work and getting started’ - if you missed them, the presentations will be available on the RIBI website membership committee pages in due course.
There are still places available for the third webinar ‘Corporate & Associate Membership - Understanding Corporate and Associate membership’ which will take place this evening at 6pm - 7pm. Click here to book your place now. There will be a Q&A session after the presentation.

During the early part of 2012/13, RI will no longer be issuing PHF certificates in the blue, padded PVC folders, instead they will be issued in a quality card folder.
