Spring Clean Ideas

Rotary Spring Clean is not just about picking up litter. It can involve cleaning up communities, parks, beaches, towns, villages, natural beauty spots, lanes, streams, ponds, verges, in fact anywhere that needs a little tender loving care. Rotary helps in many communities overseas, now is a chance to do something for communities at home by working with them.

Contact Rotary Spring Clean Co-ordinator Bob Parfitt to share your idea in this list:

  • Adopt a '5 pieces a day' target for litter picking in parks, beauty spots, beaches, any.
  • Clean up streams, rivers, pocket parks etc.
  • Help older citizens who may live alone by tidying their gardens or painting the outside of their home.
  • Remove out of date signs, posters and fly posters that are unsightly, with the approval of the local council.
  • Help to remove graffiti with your local council.

Clubs can find guidance and useful information, such as insurance, health and safety, volunteer helpers and risk assessments, in Resources.
