23 February - Rotary Day! - BBC News and BBC Radio 5 Live interviews with Rotarian Gautam Lewis are now available on the main Thanks for Life page.

10 January 2010 - Thanks for Life / End Polio Now video added to youtube and linked from various pages of the Thanks for Life website.
The final push to end polio in India. Documentary, fronted by Konnie Huq (BBC and Blue Peter presenter), giving the background to Rotary's campaign to rid the world of polio and describing the November 2009 sub national immunisation days in India at which 86 Rotarians from RIBI helped Indian volunteers to vaccinate 67 million children in just 2 days. Tens of thousands of people who survived the epidemics of the first half of the 20th Century are still living in the UK. Years later, some are now experiencing new polio-related symptoms for which they need to seek help. These may result from the original weakness and orthopaedic problems or may be Post Polio Syndrome - a neurological condition which can occur in people who have had polio.

"John, paralysed from the chin down, is 64 - and holds the dubious distinction of being the longest surviving beneficiary of iron lung technology. He has not taken a breath for himself since he was struck down with polio at the age of 17"
