Updating your club homepage

There are two options for updating your club home page; the first doesn't allow you to upload pictures, the second does. A certain amount of knowledge is required for the picture upload - but it isn't too difficult and shouldn't stop anyone trying! See the article on 'Adding Pictures to your Reports' for more information on this topic.

1) Click on the 'Club Homepage' link. The following screen appears;

Club Details formThe tick boxes at the top allow you to choose if you want to display various options on your club home page - it's up to you! You can also follow the link to get a club 'care-clicks' account and enter the appropriate URL in the form. W3C validation allows you to check that your page conforms to web standards to make it easier for visually impaired people to access your website.

The 'About' field is blank at the moment, as you haven't entered any text or pictures. Note that there is a word-processor like toolbar, so when you have written text, you can change the lettering style, alignement etc.

If you have a lot of text to add, it is much quicker, and easier, if you write your article on your word-processor first, then copy and paste it into place. THEN CLICK THE 'CLEANUP WORD' icon and also the 'clear font tags' icon, to ensure a consistent view across the site. Though you might favour some peculiar font on your computer doesn't mean that everyone else either has the font or likes it!

NB - there is a server time-out in place, so if you spend 25 minutes writing your article, then click 'update homepage', ALL YOUR WORK AND EFFORT WILL BE WASTED as you will have been 'logged out' automatically. It is best to do a bit at a time, update, then come back to the page and add some more.

When you are happy with the results, click the 'Update Homepage' button at the bottom of the form.

Next time you visit this page, your existing text will be displayed.
