Caitlin Grainger from Inverness took the crown and is looking forward to a trip to Tuscany for the live harvesting and cookery experience courtesy of our generous sponsors Filippo Berio. Caitlin is also being treated to a one day cookery experience at Auberge Du Lac under the tuition of head chef Phil Thomson. Next year, it could be you.
Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland believes it is highly important to encourage and develop creativity in young people, and this includes creativity in the kitchen. Cooking among young people is a growing interest and a valuable life skill. Schools seem to agree and hence the RIBI Young Chef competition moves forward from strength to strength each year producing some superb quality cooking from our young people aged from 11 to 17.
This year, over 4,000 people entered and were shortlisted down to eight after competing in lcoal and regional competitions. The contestants prepared and presented a three course meal to some highly qualified judges, including Hailey Vickers who was last year's winner.
Preparations are underway for the next competition. For more information, check the Related Documents section on the right hand side of this page. To find your nearest Rotary club, use our Find a Club search at the top of this page.
