Rotary Young Photographer

The digital camera has revolutionised the photographic world with instant results and the end of the concept that the camera never lies. Editing, cropping, and special effects can be applied with ease and skill. As a talent and an art form Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland wish to celebrate photography with a sequence of competitions that offer thousands of young people the chance to demonstrate and display just what they can produce.

This year the Rotary Young Photographer competition moves forward again with the expectation that each entrant into the RIBI Final will submit not one , but a portfolio of four photographs based on the chosen theme of ‘The Environment’.

We believe that this topic gives the scope for creativity that could cover the urban scene through to  conservation and the recycling culture. The quality of the photographs produced in past competitions  is quite fantastic and if you get the chance to visit any of the displays of work then please do so.

This competition is open to young people 17 or under on the 31st August 2009. If you know of such young people in your schools or youth groups then seek out your local Rotary Club from the ‘Find a Club' button at the head of this page and ask them for details. Alternatively email or call RIBI via the ‘contact us' link above.

Full rules are available on the right of this web page. Please note that these rules apply to the regional and RIBI finals. District and local event rules may differ.
We look forward to hearing from you.
