Rotary Young Photographer
The digital camera has revolutionised the photographic world with instant results and the end of the concept that the camera never lies. Editing, cropping, and special effects can be applied with ease and skill. As a talent, and an art form, Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland wish to celebrate photography with a sequence of competitions that offer thousands of young people the chance to demonstrate and display just what they can produce.
Each year, we see more and more entries into RIBI Young Photographer competition and in 2010/11 each entrant into the RIBI Final will submit a portfolio of four photographs based on the chosen theme of ‘Community Spirit’.
We believe that this topic gives the scope for imagination and creativity that could cover anything from school activity to street parties and community projects. The quality of the photographs produced in past competitions is quite fantastic and if you get the chance to visit any of the displays of work then please do so.
This competition is open to young people aged 17 or under on the 31st August 2010. If you know of young people in your schools or youth groups that have an interest in photography then seek out your local Rotary Club from the ‘Find a Club' button at the head of this page and ask them for details. Alternatively email or call RIBI via the ‘Contact Us' link above.
Full rules are available on the right handside of this web page. Please note that these rules apply to the regional and RIBI finals. District and local event rules may differ.
We look forward to hearing from you.
